Online Banking Security
Since
its founding in 1933, the privacy and safety of your financial information
has remained Countybank's utmost concern. Your transactions are as safe
as current technology allows them to be. Countybank works with cutting
edge technology partners to ensure that the most secure environment
available is made possible for our valued customers. We offer you worry
free Online Banking. You can be confident of the following security
measures:
Secure
Communications
To protect
your confidentiality, encryption scrambles information as it is transmitted
over the Internet. Our system ensures that data exchanged between your
PC and our computers is encrypted with 128-bit encryption, the strongest
encryption available. This is accomplished through Secure Sockets Layers
(SSL), which utilizes mathematical formulas to "encrypt" or
hide information from prying eyes on the Internet. Additionally, if
SSL detects that data was added or deleted after you sent it to the
bank, the connection will be severed in order to guard against any tampering.
The most popular browsers have the SSL security feature built in. How
can you tell if your browser is secure? Click

Secure
Environment
Our computer
system does not connect directly to the Internet. It is isolated from
the network via "firewalls" and "filters." A firewall
is a combination of software and hardware products that designate parameters
to control and limit the access that outside computers have to the bank's
internal network and databases. Filters examine each request for information
and after reviewing the request for specific criteria information is
forwarded accordingly. You can feel secure knowing that our firewall
and filters protect your personal information from unauthorized access.
Secure
Login
Access
ID's and passwords are isolated from the Internet by being stored on
a secure computer. This way the passwords and access ID's can never
be accessed or downloaded by anyone on the Internet. Additionally, user
passwords can vary from six to ten characters, therefore the chance
of randomly guessing a password is less than one in 1 billion! The system
also checks for invalid logins and automatically disallows a user after
three invalid attempts. This prohibits the "hacker" from gaining
access to our system thus protecting your accounts.
Your Access
ID and Password
You will
be responsible for maintaining one of the most important security measures,
your access ID and password. When you receive your initial Online Banking
access ID and password from Countybank, you will be responsible for
changing the initial access ID and password to your personally selected
ID and password. It is our recommendation that you not use portions
of your social security number, mother's maiden name, or other easily
obtainable information for your access ID or password. Be sure to keep
your newly selected password a secret. Memorize it, or write it down
and keep it in a safe place. Do not share your access ID or password
with anyone else. It is not recommended you carry your password in your
purse or wallet. Make sure no one watches you enter your password and
always close your browser when leaving the computer. Make sure you regularly
scan your computer for viruses that could be used to capture password
keystrokes. You ultimately hold the key to your password security. Not
even a bank employee knows your password.
E-mail
Addresses & Communication
If you
supply us with your e-mail address, we may let you know by e-mail about
other products and services and product enhancements that may be of
interest to you. When you send us an e-mail to comment on something
or to ask a question, we will use your e-mail address to reply to you
and for a limited time we will store your e-mail address, your message
and our response for quality assurance. We may also do this to meet
legal and regulatory requirements.
IP Addresses
When you
enter ecountybank.com, you pass through a "firewall" we use
for security purposes. As you pass through it, we identify the Internet
Protocol (IP) address associated with the device you are using, such
as a personal computer or a handheld device. The IP address does not
identify you personally, but it does allow Countybank to identify the
device you are using. We store IP addresses in case we ever need to
track a connection to its point of origin for security reasons.
Completely
Exit Online Banking
Leaving
your computer with your account information open, even for a few moments,
can be dangerous. Completely log out of Online Banking by clicking the
"log out" button to reduce the risk of unauthorized access.
Logging out ends your session and ensures that the next time you, or
anyone else tries to access your account, your access ID and password
must be known and entered properly.
